Dr. Ramesh Kumar Goyal has completed his graduation in 1988, M.Sc in Horticulture in 1990, Ph. D. in 1994 and Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Journalism in 1998 from CCS, HAU, Hisar. He joined CCS HAU in 1994 and has 26 years of experience in teaching, research and extension activities on Horticultural crops at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. He has served as Director of Research at Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, Karnal during 2020-2024. He has also served as Director Students Welfare, MHU, Dean, COH, Anjanthali Director of Extension Education and Director of Research as an additional charge. He was also members of various committees of Haryana Government related to Horticulture including prestigious projects, “The Project for Promoting Sustainable Horticulture in Haryana” and “The Haryana-UK Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Crop Post-Harvest Management & Cold-Chain”, etc. He is member of panel on Food Science, hill Agriculture, Bioremediation and Bio-resources (FAB) of the Life Sciences Research Board (LSRB) of DRDO since May, 2022 for evaluation of projects.aa

He has completed various projects of NATP, RKVY and MIDH of more than Rs.  1140.00 lakh. Dr Goyal has extensive experience teaching and taught UG and PG courses in Horticulture (Fruit Science, Floriculture, PHT, etc.). Besides, has served in various capacities in research, extension  Human Resource Management and adminstration. He has guided 12 M.Sc. and 6 Ph.D. students in the discipline of Horticulture/ Fruit Science. He has published research paper more than 80 in journals of National and International repute. He has organized various trainings for scientists of SAUs and ICAR institutes, students and farmers. He has established four labs under MIDH project at Research Farm, Anjanthali. He has also established the basic infrastructure at HRC, Badhana, Raya and Chandsoli and Research Farm, Anjanthali.

He has completed his Training on R & D Development in Post-harvest Biology and Technology from Agricultural Research Organization, Bet Degan, Israel from Feb.1 to March 1, 2000. He presented research paper during “First International Symposium on Sustainable Agriculture for Subtropical Regions” at Institute of Subtropical Agriculture, CAS, Changsha (China) Nov. 23 to 25, 2005. He has visited Brunel University, London and Kochi University, Kochi (Japan) for academic and research collaboration during 2024 and 2025, respectively.
